Confidentiality has been a hallmark of banking for centuries. At the First National Bank in Amboy, we are committed to protecting the Personal Information you provide to us. The information we receive is used to provide superior service to you and convenient access to the right products and services. We recognize that you have high expectations regarding the use of your Personal Information. You don't need to request this confidentiality, it's our standard practice. Therefore, we at First National are committed to the following set of principles:
1. We share information regarding customers within our bank in accordance with strict internal security standards and confidentiality policies and with applicable law. We have established high standards for protecting information regarding our customers from unauthorized alteration or destruction. All of our operational and data processing systems are in a secure environment that protects your account from being accessed by third parties.
2. We hold our employees fully accountable for adhering to those standards, policies and laws. First National's employees are informed of their responsibility to protect the confidentiality of customer information and are subject to discipline for violating this policy. Only employees engaged in the discharge of assigned duties involving customer information are authorized to access that information.
3. We do not share information about our customers with other companies except in order to conduct our business, comply with applicable law, protect against fraud or make available special offers of products and services that we think may be of interest to our customers. We may also provide information to regulatory authorities and law enforcement officials in accordance with applicable law.
4. We investigate customer inquiries regarding information received from First National (or from a credit-reporting agency reflecting information provided by First National) that the customer believes to be inaccurate or incorrect. Customers should notify us if they receive information regarding their First National relationship that they believe to be inaccurate.
When is Personal Information collected?
Applications: When you apply for either a deposit account or a loan, or when you enroll in EZPay, you will be asked for Personal Information in order to process your application. We may also receive information about you from a consumer reporting agency. We also collect information from your transactions with us. This information may be retained by the bank and its business partners who help us provide you with the requested product or service. For your safety, information you provide to us online will be encrypted.
On Line Banking and EZPay: When you bank online with On Line Banking or use EZPay's easy bill paying feature, First National and our business partner, who helps us deliver these services to you, will have access to your personal information. This information is retained on either First National's or our business partner's system in order to provide you with the services you have requested.
Correspondence or E-mail: When you send us a letter or an e-mail, we will retain your letter or the content of your e-mail, your e-mail address, and our response in order to handle any follow-up questions that you may have.
Do you sell Personal Information to people outside of First National Bank?
First National will not sell Personal Information to a third party for the purpose of solicitation or provide Personal Information to a third party for its own, independent use. We may, however, share Personal Information such as your name and account number and specific transaction information with our business partners in order to deliver products and services which you have requested and in order to communicate with you about First National, its products and its services. Like most banks, First National contracts with outside companies to provide support services such as credit card data processing, check printing, etc. These vendors are required to treat such Personal Information confidentially and use the information only for the specific bank purpose stated. Vendors are prohibited from reusing or selling Personal Information. This policy applies to former customers as well as current customers.
Do you share Personal Information with any other organizations?
First National May share some or all of the Personal Information we collect as described above with Nicklaus Financial Services.
Does First National provide credit information to credit reporting agencies?
Yes. In accordance with standard banking industry practice, we share information about our customers with reputable credit reporting agencies, so creditors can verify the existence and condition of customers' accounts. We also share information about deposit accounts with Check Systems.
On occasion, an entity other than a credit-reporting agency, such as another business, may ask us for credit information about an individual or business customer. For example, you may be establishing a credit relationship with another business. In such instances, we will not provide information about you unless you have given your prior written authorization.
Can I check my Personal Information to see if it is correct?
If you have any reason to believe that your Personal Information retained at First National is incorrect, please call us at (815) 857-3625 or (800) 216-0008. We will investigate the problem and, if appropriate, update the bank's records.
